The NEW David and Emma Greenwood Memorial Foundation

Serving young people who have expereinced trauma in North Carolina, Israel, and Southeast Asia

About Us

Our Foundation was born in the 1990’s out of conversations and dialogues. The topic evolved around how can regular people assist special children. Specifically, children who had survived trauma and yet displayed promise of becoming leaders of the future.

Having experienced extreme events, they nonetheless seem to be resilient and determined to live in a better world they themselves would help to build. From its origins as an informal think tank, a budding non-profit agency took on a series of changes over the years. At the start—and to this day—a primary goal centers on cooperative efforts between ourselves and partners in the State of North Carolina and the State of Israel.

We focus on building bridges and mutually enabling linkages between families and cultures in both countries. Since 2015, a secondary focus has emerged and grown. We combine efforts with partners in America to assist in facilitating the adjustment of refugees and new immigrants in North Carolina. Recently we have also begun—in a modest way—to assist young people in Southeast Asia in alliance with our partners based in that region.

Our Foundation receives no government or PAC related funding; we accept donations from individuals who care about the future of young people.
